Georgia Dostal

 

Georgia Dostal, Founder of Balanced Ballerinas and Director of GC Dance, is a passionate ballet educator with over 30 years of experience. She is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dance’s Diploma of Dance program, awarded with Distinction, and brings classical expertise into a modern, inclusive, and inspiring environment for students of all ages.

Georgia holds teaching qualifications with both the Conservatoire of Ballet (Vaganova) and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique. Her credentials also include a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate III in Dance from The Australian Ballet School, and a Bachelor of Communications from The University of Queensland.

As an entrepreneur, podcaster, and writer, Georgia is dedicated to breaking down ballet’s elitist barriers - a mission she brings to life through The Balanced Ballerinas Podcast.

Nikita Canning

 

Nikita is a certified Queensland Ballet Petit Pointers and Queensland Ballet for Seniors teacher and plays a pivotal role in developing the Balanced Ballerinas Mini curriculum.


As a registered Queensland Ballet education ambassador, Nikita facilitates our tiny tots programs and St Hilda's School location classes.


She also holds her TAE40116 (Cert IV in Training & Assessment) and coordinates our nationally recognised Certificate II & III courses.


Nikita is passionate about sharing her love of movement, music, piano, and dance with our students!

Meg Bradshaw

 

Meg is a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher and has trained extensively in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Musical Theatre and Singing. 


Upon graduating from The Queensland Dance School of Excellence, Meg graduated from ED5 International where she gained a Certificate IV in Performing Arts. 


Meg was awarded the Certificate of Excellence at the Broadway Dance Centre in New York before returning to Australia to begin her teaching journey. 


Meg loves encouraging our students to be unique, technically sound and versatile!

Meg Ditchfield

 

Meg Ditchfield is a highly experienced dance teacher with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from QUT and registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher.

As the former co-owner of Noosa House of Dance, Meg has over a decade of teaching and choreography experience.

Her passion, professionalism, and creativity inspire students to thrive technically and personally. Known for her supportive approach, Meg is dedicated to fostering a love for dance while helping each student reach their full potential.

Hayley Iffland

 

Hayley is a previous dance studio owner with over 15 years of dance teaching and choreographic experience.


Hayley completed a Diploma in Dance from Queensland Dance School of Excellence, an Associate Diploma Teaching Qualification from Cecchetti Ballet International and Certificate IV In Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance.


Hayley loves sharing her vast knowledge from both working professionally and teaching in the performing arts with the next generation!

Lucy Dougherty

 

GC Dance alumna, Lucy has trained across various styles including ballet, jazz and contemporary. She has been teaching and assistant teaching within the tiny tot program at the studio for many years, being mentored by both Georgia and Nikita.


Lucy completed her Certificate II and III in Dance through GC Dance and is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) at QUT.


Lucy is passionate about dance education and loves passing down the knowledge and art of dance to the next generation! 

Naomi Colburn

 

Naomi Colburn is a versatile and passionate dance teacher with extensive training in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet syllabus, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics, and Hip Hop.


With over five years of teaching experience at her home studio in Sydney, Naomi has also completed teacher training programs, including DanceStep up to Level 3, and has worked with specialised Tiny Tots dance programs.


Naomi takes immense pride in playing a role in students dance journeys, fostering their growth and love for the performing arts.

Sophie Willmot

 

GC Dance alumna Sophie Willmot is a versatile performer, choreographer, and teacher with over 18 years of experience in ballet, jazz, heels, contemporary, and musical theatre. She has achieved multiple Distinctions in RAD and Vaganova Conservatoire of Ballet exams.

Her performance credits include Iris Kelly in Fame: The Musical (Spotlight Theatre), Virtue and Dance Captain in Anything Goes(Sonyq Edge Performing Arts), Featured Ensemble in Oklahoma! (GCLT), principal dancer in Grease, and female swing and choreographer for Titanic: The Musical (Gold Coast Little Theatre). She also made her play debut in The 39 Steps with Sonyq Edge, exploring physical theatre and comedy.

Sophie is passionate about creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students can grow in confidence, technique, and love for the performing arts.

Annabel Tyler 

 

Annabel Tyler graduates from GC Dance in 2025 and is beginning her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance to become a registered teacher in 2026.

With extensive training in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and musical theatre, Annabel has completed her Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (Vaganova) exams with Distinction, as well as her Intermediate, Advanced 1, and Advanced 2 examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance.
