When I was a young dancer on the Gold Coast, one of my favourite things was being part of the Gold Coast Combined Dance Teachers Association events. They ran workshops and held a concert where all the dance studios on the Gold Coast could perform a routine, mingle with other Gold Coast dancers and win scholarships.

I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of a few of those scholarships and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know students from other studios and being part of a large production.

In 2006, after 20 years of success, the board of directors chose to end all GCCDTA events and this year our very own teacher Andrew Ross-Graham has decided to resurrect this wonderful opportunity for young dancers.

Andrew and I danced at many GCCDTA performances and remember having a ball every time! So it is my pleasure to announce GC Dance as an official member of the revived GCCDTA and I will keep students posted when workshops and productions begin.

I hope more studios choose to be part of this wonderful opportunity for local Gold Coast dancers.
